  • 3 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 bunch fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage)
  • 2 large yellow onions (quartered)
  • 10 cloves garlic (whole)
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Remove giblets from the turkey cavity; rinse under cold water and pat dry.
  3. Rub softened butter over the turkey’s surface; season generously with salt and pepper inside and out.
  4. Stuff the cavity with quartered onions, garlic cloves, and fresh herbs for added flavor.
  5. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a large pan; pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
  6. Roast for approximately 13 minutes per pound or until an internal temperature of 165°F is reached, basting every 30 minutes with pan juices.
