Description

Elevate your holiday feast with this Homemade Fresh Cranberry Orange Sauce, a delightful blend of tart cranberries and sweet oranges. This vibrant sauce not only adds a pop of color to your table but also enhances the flavors of turkey, pork, and more. Quick to prepare with a handful of simple ingredients, it’s the perfect accompaniment for festive gatherings or an everyday treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz fresh cranberries (about 3 cups)
  • 1 cup orange juice (from about 2 large oranges)
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Rinse fresh cranberries under cold water until clean. Zest one orange and juice both oranges into a measuring cup.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, orange zest, orange juice, sugar, and water. Mix well and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  3. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until cranberries burst and sauce thickens slightly. The aroma will be delightful!
  4. Add the cinnamon stick during the last few minutes of cooking for extra warmth. Remove from heat when thickened; let cool slightly before discarding the cinnamon stick.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl or jar; serve warm or chilled.
