Description

Dill Pickle Focaccia is a delightful twist on traditional bread that combines the tangy flavor of dill pickles with a fluffy, chewy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup finely chopped dill pickles
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp dried dill weed

Instructions

  1. 1. Activate Yeast: In a bowl, mix warm water and yeast; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. 2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt, and dried dill. Make a well in the center; add yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. 3. Knead Dough: Mix until combined; knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. 4. Let Rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl; cover and let rise in a warm spot until doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. 5. Prepare Focaccia: Flatten dough on a greased baking sheet; sprinkle chopped pickles on top. Create dimples using your fingers, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  6. 6. Second Rise: Let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. 7. Bake: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
