  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F / 43°C)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, granulated sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour and salt. Slowly add to the yeast mixture until well mixed.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter on top, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place dough on a greased baking sheet and let rise again for another 30 minutes.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
