  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup spinach (fresh or thawed frozen)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water and instant yeast; let it froth for about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in flour, olive oil, and salt until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the spinach dip by mixing softened cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and spinach until creamy but thick.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough into a rectangle and cut into strips. Place a spoonful of spinach dip on one end of each strip, fold over, and twist into festive shapes.
  7. Arrange twisted breadsticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
