Description

These charming Christmas Tree Hand Pies are the perfect festive treat for your holiday gatherings. Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 68 tbsp cold water
  • 1 cup fruit preserves (such as cherry or apple)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 tbsp water)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add cold water until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix fruit preserves, cream cheese, and cinnamon until smooth.
  4. Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into tree shapes using cookie cutters.
  5. Place a spoonful of filling on half of each tree cutout. Fold over the other half and seal edges with a fork.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush unbaked hand pies with egg wash and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
