- 4 cups tart apples (Granny Smith), peeled and sliced
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Toss sliced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- In another bowl, mix flour, oats, remaining brown sugar, baking powder, and softened butter until crumbly.
- Press half the oat mixture into the bottom of the baking dish. Layer the apple mixture on top and crumble the rest of the oat mixture over it.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
