Description

Chinese Beef and Broccoli is a delightful stir-fry dish that combines tender flank steak with crisp broccoli, all enveloped in a savory garlic and ginger sauce. This quick and easy recipe elevates weeknight dinners and impresses guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup rice or noodles (to serve)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Slice flank steak and chop broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Marinate the beef: Combine sliced beef, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch in a bowl. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Cook the beef: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef in batches until browned (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Add broccoli: Toss in broccoli florets with a splash of water. Cover to steam for 3-4 minutes until bright green.
  5. Create your sauce: Whisk together additional soy sauce, water, and cornstarch in a bowl. Pour over beef and broccoli.
  6. Thicken and serve: Cook until bubbly (about 2-3 minutes). Serve hot over rice or mixed with noodles.
