These creamy potatoes, infused with aromatic garlic, melt in your mouth and are a must-have at any festive gathering. Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, peeled
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chives or parsley (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the Russet potatoes into 1-2 inch chunks.
  2. Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Add garlic cloves during the last 5 minutes of boiling.
  3. Drain the potatoes and garlic, return them to the pot over low heat for 1 minute to evaporate excess moisture.
  4. Mash the potatoes and garlic until smooth. Mix in softened butter and gradually stir in heavy cream until desired creaminess is reached. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish with chives or parsley if desired, and serve warm.
