  • 2 ribeye steaks (8 oz each)
  • 2 large Russet potatoes (about 1 lb)
  • 1 cup chopped green cabbage
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • 3 green onions, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Remove steaks from the fridge and allow them to reach room temperature (about 30 minutes).
  2. Season both sides of the steaks generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat until hot; sear steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side for desired doneness.
  4. While steaks rest, peel and boil potatoes in salted water for 15-20 minutes until fork-tender.
  5. Drain potatoes, mash them, and mix in sautéed cabbage cooked with butter. Stir in milk or cream until creamy.
  6. Fold in chopped green onions, season with salt and pepper, and serve alongside steaks.
