  • 1 lb Italian sausage (spicy or mild)
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup fresh basil (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until translucent.
  2. Add sliced sausage to the skillet; brown until crispy.
  3. Transfer sautéed mixture to the crockpot. Stir in crushed tomatoes and tortellini.
