- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

- 1/2 cup raspberry jam
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Gradually mix in flour, salt, and almond extract until just combined.
- Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour to firm up.
- Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out tree shapes and cut smaller shapes from half of them for the jam filling.
- Place cutouts on parchment-lined baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Once cooled, spread raspberry jam on solid cookies and top with cut-out pieces. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
