  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Valentine's themed M&M's

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar; whisk until smooth.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gently fold in sifted flour and baking powder until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract and half of the M&M's.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, top with remaining M&M's, and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden edges form and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
