  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper (any color), chopped
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 sturdy hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onions and bell peppers until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart until no pink remains.
  3. Stir in the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat all ingredients.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
  5. Optional: Toast the hamburger buns in a separate skillet until golden brown.
  6. Spoon the meat mixture onto each bun half and serve hot.
